Jessie Primer is an award-winning jazz musician, saxophonist, and bandleader. He has performed with several noteworthy musicians such as B.B. King, Cassandra Wilson, and the Williams Brothers.

The District is proud to partner with WJSU 88.5 FM, our event host. Since 1976, WJSU has been the leading provider of jazz programming in the state of Mississippi to a diverse audience as a service of Jackson State University.

*NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED – Please visit one of our restaurants at The District (Sal & Mookie’s or Eudora’s). The District’s resort status allows you to bring your to-go cup onto the District Green. Blankets, chairs, and pets are welcome.
