JACKSON, Miss., Jan. 24, 2017 – The District at Eastover – the leading-edge mixed-use development taking shape in the heart of Metro Jackson – is pleased to welcome the first wave of innovative, modern restaurant and retail neighbors.

New restaurants and retailers joining the neighborhood have been announced, and they are:

Cantina Laredo, an upscale casual dining gourmet Mexican restaurant. It dishes up modern twists on classic border recipes and distinguished culinary signatures, offering fresh, authentic and healthy options in a sophisticated atmosphere. It’s the modern side of Mexican, and is slated to open this summer. Cantina Laredo opens onto the District Green, the hub of the development, and offers an expansive dining patio that can be used year round complete with outdoor fireplace and other unique amenities.

Results Physiotherapy, one of the largest and fastest growing physical therapy companies in the U.S.

Freshii, a healthful global fast casual restaurant chain that specializes in custom-made wraps, salads, quinoa bowls, and fresh pressed juices and smoothies.

Orangetheory Fitness, a leading national heart rate monitored training and workout facility. It fuels a thriving wearable technology and fitness world.

Other concepts include women’s fashion, home décor and much more to be announced as the development continues to take shape.

These exciting retail and restaurant offerings join previously announced retail branch locations for Origin Bank and BankPlus. Origin opened its newest banking center in The District last November, marking its fifth center in Mississippi. Origin has more than 40 locations across the three state region of Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. BankPlus – one of the leading community banks in the state – is putting the final touches on its multifaceted banking center, slated to open in April, and will house commercial lending, commercial real estate, cash management, private banking, wealth management, wealthplus and business development.

“The District at Eastover will be a culinary and retail destination, and we wanted to celebrate that through the restaurants and offerings we are bringing to the neighborhood,” said Breck Hines, principle of The District at Eastover. “It expands on the current interest in health and wellness and taps into the social aspect of good, locally-sourced food and drink. Dining out is more than just eating good food – It’s a large part of our social fabric and how we entertain ourselves. This reinforces that vision.”

Other cornerstone developments in The District at Eastover are the One Eastover Center office building, the recently opened Residence Inn by Marriott, The District Lofts, The BankPlus Building, and 115,000 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space, which will be completed in 2017.
